The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards Evening

The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards ceremony took place in Covent Garden on Wednesday 20th May. Once again, Munro was the research partner responsible for gathering and analysing the data, along with environmental consultancy Bureau Veritas.

Will Ullstein, Munro Director of Innovation, took centre stage alongside Shadow Chancellor George Osbourne, and Sunday Times editor John Witherow to say a few congratulatory words to the winners before the official awards were presented.

Will addressed the 180 strong guest list, describing a significant shift towards the green agenda by businesses across the country;

"The growth in this year's Green List, in terms of numbers and quality of entrants, is a clear demonstration that British businesses still consider the environment a priority, despite the economic downturn. In fact our data shows that being green actually reduces costs on the bottom line, and that businesses which have made this link are reaping the benefits."

The top 60 winners were named and presented with their own Best Green Companies award to take pride of place back at the office.

Whilst competition was fierce last year, 2009 saw the bar raised further with more green initiatives being introduced into the workplace. The full list of winners will be announced on Sunday 24th May in the Sunday Times, and you will be able to view the winners on the Best Green Companies website from Tuesday 26th May.
