A number of central and local government departments are clients, and this part of our business has increased as the public sector has been made more accountable and encouraged to adopt a more pragmatic, commercial approach.

• We have just begun our eighth successive year of conducting the Jobcentre Plus research to measure customer satisfaction among employers who use the service;
  
• The Office of Fair Trading commissioned us to look into consumer awareness and use of diverse products and services, from electrical goods through to pharmacists and dentists, and more recently two large studies on internet retailing;
  
• HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions. The Home Office, The Department for Communities and Local Government as well as a number of Local and County Councils are all recent clients for whom FDS has delivered innovative but robust research solutions.
