Neil Aulton

Neil Aulton, Research Director, joined the FDS team in early 2007. Neil has an exemplary track record in Business Research and in using quantitative and qualitative techniques to bring an added-value consultative approach to research projects.

Following an early career as an economist with Halcrow Transmark undertaking demand and revenue forecasting projects in the transport sector, Neil joined IATA (International Air Transport Association). As Manager, Corporate Research, Neil and his team provided commercial research solutions for a variety of clients, delivering projects which included research conducted in 86 countries and 19 languages.

On leaving IATA, Neil joined Visit Britain as Head of Industry Insight and lead the England Research team, providing actionable insight based on maximising the use of national data collected and through liaison with national, regional and local tourism bodies. Immediately prior to joining FDS Neil was Senior Manager Client Service with AC Neilsen, New Zealand, developing and managing, amongst other projects, the Domestic Travel and International Visitor Surveys for the Ministry of Tourism and Statistics in New Zeland.

A graduate of Brunel University with a BSc in Economics and Business Finance, Neil is an Associate Member of the Market Research Societies of the UK and New Zealand.
